The Great Tribulation

Post Tribulation Rapture Biblical Proof

Note: All of these scriptures from Matthew 24:15-21 have been used for years and years to teach the “Pre Trib Rapture”.  I find it very odd that these scriptures are describing the Rapture just after the Great Tribulation of those days.  This is telling us that the Rapture for us believers will be a “Post Trib Rapture” meaning just after the Great Tribulation.  Now this isn't a salvation issue for Christians so you can believe what you want to believe but this is right out of the Bible and God has shown this truth to me.  Sometimes you have to let the Bible take over your theology to receive Gods truth.  It’s a life long lesson for all of us.  The denomination that I grew up with taught the “Pre Trib Rapture” and never produced or discussed any scripture to back their own teaching and theology.  God gave me a Revelation from these scriptures years ago teaching me His truth, not man’s worldly philosophy or his own theology.   Bill Ricks

Matthew 24:3-14 (NKJV)
The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age
3 Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”  4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.  9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Matthew 24:15-28
The Great Tribulation
15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet (located in Daniel 11:30-35 & Daniel 12:11-13), standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.  23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.  26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

Matthew 24:29-31
The Coming of the Son of Man
29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24:32-35
The Parable of the Fig Tree
32 “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. 33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! 34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Matthew 24:36-44
No One Knows the Day or Hour
36 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Matthew 24:45-51
The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant
45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Daniel 11:30-35
30 For ships from Cyprus shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and return in rage against the holy covenant, and do damage. “So he shall return and show regard for those who forsake the holy covenant. 31 And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. 32 Those who do wickedly against the covenant he shall corrupt with flattery; but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits. 33 And those of the people who understand shall instruct many; yet for many days they shall fall by sword and flame, by captivity and plundering. 34 Now when they fall, they shall be aided with a little help; but many shall join with them by intrigue. 35 And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time.

Daniel 12:11-13
11 “And from the time the daily is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days. 13 “But you, go till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

Revelation 20:1-3
Satan Bound 1000 Years
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.

Revelation 20:4-6
The Saints Reign with Christ 1000 Years
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

Great Tribulation in detail
The Bible speaks clearly that this time called the great tribulation is coming. So what really is the great tribulation? It is a 3.5-year period of time, just prior to the battle of Armageddon, during which horrible slaughter will begin in biblical Judea and then extend around the world. Judea is the area in Israel known as the West Bank.
At the same time, an influential global leader will arise in Europe and implement a numbering system to control the human race. The Bible says he will ultimately rule over the entire world.

Daniel did not understand all of what he wrote about.
An Old Testament prophet named Daniel foresaw a period of time, which he did not quite comprehend. It was eventually named after him—“Daniel’s 70th Week.” This information is found in Daniel 9:27:  Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.  And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

Daniel did not understand that this week referred to a week of years, or a 7-year period of time. (The Good News Translation of Daniel 9:27 renders this passage: “That ruler will have affirm agreement with many people for seven years, and when half this time is past, he will put an end to sacrifices and offerings.”)

Daniel’s Equations
Daniel 9:27 gives us a simple mathematical calculation: “…and in the midst (middle) of the week (7 years) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,” thus 7 ÷ 2 = 3.5. In other words, the final 7 years will be divided into two equal periods of 3.5 years!

From this simple mathematical truth, we are able to understand Daniel’s two equations. The first 3.5 -year time period will begin at the confirmation of the covenant. The second 3.5-year time period will mark the beginning of the great tribulation and will be ended by the battle of Armageddon and the second coming of Jesus. So the secrets of Daniel’s 70 week can be summarized in two equations:

• Confirmation of the covenant + 3.5 years = the start of the great tribulation.
• Confirmation of the covenant + 7 years = Armageddon & 2nd coming.

The sixth trumpet may happen sometime in the first 3 ½ years of this final seven.  I can’t say that it will positively happen during that time, but it certainly looks like it, and here’s why I think so:  Revelation 9 explains the sixth trumpet, but the seventh trumpet doesn't sound until the end of the 11th chapter.  Revelation 10 talks about an angel who places his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the earth, and John is instructed to seal up the words of the seven thunders.  In Daniel 12:4, Daniel is also instructed to shut up the words, and when the man in Daniel 12:6 asked, “How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?” he is told by an angel standing on the waters that it will be a time, times and an half, or 3 ½ years.  Revelation 11 goes on to talk about the things that will happen in the final 3 ½ years, like the two witnesses who “shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days”, or 3.45 years.  Then the sounding of the seventh trumpet happens in the end of chapter 11.  This may be an indication that the sixth trumpet will happen before the halfway point of the final seven years.

If it does happen just before the Antichrist takes over, what better way for the Antichrist to take power than when the world awakes to 2 billion +/- dead? Since we know he takes power at the half-way point, or 3.5 years into the final seven, and that he uses peace as a weapon, it would be a big stepping stone for his agenda when the world is clamoring for peace after a nuclear war. Also, a calamitous world event like another world war is what Muslims believe will usher in their Mahdi. Muslims like Iran's prior president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and other leaders believe they can actually hasten the coming of the Mahdi by creating the world chaos necessary for him to come and “save the world”.  Stay tuned!

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter. Revelation 8:10-11

The book of Revelation describes cataclysmic events that are to happen in the end time. Parts of these events are signaled by the blowing of the third trumpet in chapter 8, a great star called Wormwood was cast into the earth.

The world’s worst ever nuclear meltdown occurred on April 26, 1986 at Chernobyl in Ukraine, at that time one of the states of the Soviet Union. Incredibly, Chernobyl is the Russian word for wormwood! It appears that the Chernobyl catastrophe was the fulfillment of the sounding of the third trumpet of Revelation 8!

Please note that this is not a salvation issue.  So you can choose to believe this or not. This is just some of the signs that God told us Christians about during the end times. Keep studying the Word of God as much as you can.  God bless you!
